In Like a Lion...

Graphing is an upcoming skill for my second graders.
What better way to graph the weather than to use the poem for the Lion and the Lamb of March...

Found this great book on Amazon... and LOVED it immediately!
I can't wait to have the kids compare and contrast the two characters....and link their behaviors to the weather that we'll use to identify "a Lion Day" and "a Lamb Day"...

You can listen to it on YouTube...

If you use QR codes...I've created a QR code to the movie for the kids to scan, watch, and listen.
I think I'll use some of the graphing pieces from my shares on the blogpost.... HERE

iLove The Teaching Channel

Are you familiar with "The Teaching Channel"?
I LOVE the ideas and real life scenarios shared by real teachers!

The "Trash Can" game (shared on this video) is a game I've been looking forward to trying with my second graders this year!

I tried to download some of the resources she uses during the video, but the one download didn't play nice with my computer...so I created a quick sheet to go with the game that I think will serve the purpose.

You can download the game from the Teaching Channel video resource....

Here's my version ... you can download HERE

Math Mystery QR Codes

Made a quick QR code station for this week to review addition and subtraction with regrouping.

Used those cute Dollar Tree cut outs I bought over the summer to glue each QR code to...

I'll put them in a box tomorrow and ....ta-dah...station ready to roll :)
