Here's a game I adapted from another game that works for my first graders.
The game begins with one player rolling two 6-sided dice. If the starting player doesn't roll a number pair that equals six, the player to his left picks up the dice and tries to roll a number pair that equals six.
Play continues with each player taking a turn until someone rolls a number pair that equals six. When this happens, that player must begin writing out the numbers 1 through 100---as quickly as possible---on the hundreds chart in front of him. The rest of the players continue to take turns rolling the dice trying to get a number pair that equals six. Pass over the player who is writing the numbers to 100.
When another player rolls a number pair that equals six, the person who is writing must stop immediately and give the pencil to the player who just rolled a six. He then picks up the pencil and starts writing his own list of numbers 1 through 100 on the hundreds chart in front of him. The rest of the players continue to take turns rolling the dice trying to get a number pair that equals six. Pass over the player who is writing the numbers to 100.
A player wins the race when he finishes writing his numbers 1 – 100 on his hundreds chart. Other players may review the chart to make sure he did not skip over any numbers.
